Wadden Sea Gin is a Gin based on one of the most beautiful and richest natural areas in the world, namely the Wadden Sea:

The Wadden Sea is a unique place with an ancient tradition of shipping. 

Yes, the people of the Wadden Sea have for longer than you can remember engaged in shopping, fishing and even hunting whales across the seas. 

That with the whales is thankfully a long time ago.

And it's not just sailors who get far. 

The Wadden Sea is called a natural pantry, because there is an unusual throng of life and plants. Of course, the birds have discovered this, so many millions of birds, some from as far away as Iceland, stop and get a bite to eat.

We think we deserve a gin! So in the best Wadden Sea manners, we have both taken inspiration from the big world, and botanicals in the local.

The taste of the Wadden Sea.

In addition to the classic botanicals, such as juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, lemon peel, etc., we have also added chamomile, rosehip leaves, sea buckthorn and not least heather flowers. The latter give Wadden Sea Gin a characteristically sweet rounding in the taste. Something we have also received help from, Naturcenter Tønnisgård on Rømø.

AN IDEA THAT HAS GROWN SINCE 1984

The Wadden Sea and Southern Jutland live in us. We are 8 friends from Toftlund in Southern Jutland. We have known each other since childhood, and it is a friendship we have held on to, through adulthood. Since 1984, we have had a tradition where we meet at least once a year, over an extended weekend. Part of that tradition is that we always enjoy a good gin or aquavit, and play with the idea of making our own.
