ABOUT

Kommandørgården has a large riding center with Icelandic horses and horse-drawn carriages as well as a large playground with lots of fun for the whole family.

In connection with Hotel Kommandørgården is Kommandørgården's Islændercenter, which is open all year round. From here, guided riding tours are organized both for the experienced rider and the one who has never sat on a horse before. We ride in the plantation or on the beach, on the back of an Icelandic horse. We offer horse riding on the 2 Wadden Sea islands Rømø and Mandø, as well as on Koresand. One thing characterizes all our horses, they are extremely friendly and willing - otherwise they wouldn't be with us.

You can join the guided tours on our horses, or bring your own horse, we have the option of a place in the field and stables for the horse. We have just chosen the Icelandic horse, which was also ridden by the Nordic Vikings over 1000 years ago, because it is not content with walk, trot and gallop, but has two more gaits, namely trot and pace. The tent in particular is very attractive, as here you can sit quite calmly in the saddle even at a high pace. All horse riding tours are booked in advance directly at Hotel Kommandørgården.

We also ride a horse-drawn carriage with our big Shire horse Nathalie through the beautiful moorland of Rømø (min. 6 people).
