With the exhibition “Ultima Thule”, renowned photographer Henrik Saxgren invites you on a magnificent and rugged journey into Greenlandic hunter culture – where the forces of nature set the agenda, and life is lived with both courage and respect.

Through a powerful and sensory photographic expression, Saxgren depicts the meeting between man and nature in one of the world's most extreme environments. Here, we follow the hunters on dog sleds across the sea ice in freezing cold, where the hunt for survival unfolds side by side with a deep connection to nature.

“Ultima Thule” is not merely documentation – it is a tribute to Greenland and its people. A tale of strength, vulnerability, and a way of life balancing on the edge of extinction.

Kunsthal Holmen is a small gem of an exhibition venue. The art hall presents an ambitious program of contemporary art, offering cognitive, aesthetic, and sensory experiences.

Together with the art museums in Esbjerg, Ribe, Tønder, as well as the Nolde Museum and Mikkelberg just south of the border, Kunsthal Holmen forms an artistic bastion in Southern Jutland.
