Get close to the seals in the Vadehavet

A seal safari is one of the most popular nature experiences on Rømø. Here, you have the opportunity to get close to the harbor seals of the Vadehavet — Denmark's largest predator — in their natural habitat.

Tours are organized by Sort Safari, MandøPigen, and Marskture, all departing from Rømø. You can choose a boat trip out to the seal banks or a guided tour along the dikes, where the seals rest on sandbanks.

What to expect?

• Guided tours to the seal banks with experienced nature guides
• Opportunity for mini-trawling (crabs, starfish, shrimp) on certain tours
• Learn about seal biology, behavior, and the Vadehavet ecosystem
• Option for an extended stay on the German island of Sylt (Sort Safari)

Practical information

Tours are primarily held during the summer months (July–August) and September. Duration: 2–4 hours. It is recommended to bring waterproof clothing and binoculars. Advance booking is recommended as spaces are limited.
