Wadden Sea tours in Nationalpark Vadehavet
Wadden Sea tours — discover life on the mudflats
Join a guided tour into Nationalpark Vadehavet and discover why this specific area has been designated as both a National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage site. On this tour, you will get close to the tides, the wildlife, and the truly unique nature that makes Vadehavet one of the world's most important natural areas.
An experienced nature guide from Naturcenter Tønnisgård will lead you out onto the mudflats, where you will explore a wealth of wondrous creatures together — lugworms, bristle worms, crabs, shrimp, mussels, and snails. Along the way, you will hear about the rhythm of the tides, the migratory birds, and the interplay between the sea, the marsh, and the people.
Two tours — for all ages
- Wadden Sea Tour: The classic tour for adults and families with older children from approx. 8 years. Duration approx. 2 hours.
- Wadden Sea Expedition at child-level: A tour specially designed for families with younger children, where you explore the tiny inhabitants of the mudflats. Duration approx. 1.5–2 hours.
Practical information
The meeting point is the Storm Surge Column at Havneplads in Havneby. The tour is approximately 1.5–2 km long and takes place on the mudflats — bring rubber boots or clothes and shoes that can get wet and muddy. One ticket must be purchased per participant.
"A world is hidden beneath the mudflats — come along and experience the UNESCO World Heritage on your own two feet."
