Naturcenter Tønnisgård

Naturcenter Tønnisgård is a cozy nature center in the heart of Rømø, housed in a charming thatched farmhouse at Havnebyvej 30. The association behind the center has been sharing the nature and culture of Rømø since 1992 and serves as a natural gathering point for both tourists and locals.

Each year, the center organizes more than 400 tours and activities led by experienced nature guides – ranging from shrimp catching on the beach and oyster safaris in the Vadehavet to bunker tours, Vadehavet walks, themed bike rides, and "Tales from the Church". The aim is to showcase nature at its very best and demonstrate the wealth of experiences it offers.

At Tønnisgård, you will also find the most comprehensive exhibition on Rømø about the Vadehavet and the North Sea, where both children and adults can get up close to the tides, the wildlife, and the island's formation. There are also plenty of children’s activities, such as kite building and creative workshops using mussels and shells. There is always fresh coffee ready and time for a friendly smile.
