Vadehavs Spirits

Vadehavs Gin is a spirit inspired by one of the most beautiful and richest natural areas in the world: Vadehavet:

Vadehavet is a unique location with an ancient seafaring tradition. 

Indeed, the people of Vadehavet have, for longer than anyone can remember, been active in trading, fishing, and even whaling across the seas. 

Fortunately, the whaling days are long gone.

And it is not just the sailors who travel far and wide. 

Vadehavet is often called nature's own pantry, as it teems with an extraordinary abundance of life and plants. The birds have certainly noticed this; millions of them, some traveling from as far away as Iceland, stop here for a bite to eat.

We believe that deserves a gin! So, in true Vadehavet fashion, we have drawn inspiration from the wide world as well as botanicals from our local surroundings.

The Taste of Vadehavet.

In addition to classic botanicals like juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, and lemon peel, we have also added chamomile, wild rose petals, sea buckthorn, and, most importantly, heather flowers. The latter gives Vadehavs Gin a characteristically sweet finish. We received expert guidance on this from Naturcenter Tønnisgård on Rømø.

AN IDEA GROWING SINCE 1984

Vadehavet and South Jutland are part of our soul. We are eight friends from Toftlund in South Jutland. We have known each other since childhood, maintaining a close bond throughout our adult lives. Since 1984, we have shared a tradition of meeting at least once a year for a long weekend. Part of that tradition involves enjoying a good gin or aquavit while playing with the idea of creating our own.
