It was the cistercian monks that 842 years ago settled down in this place and began to build an impressive monastery. Of the monastery, only the east wing with the monks' dormitorium is preserved. But the church from the 13th century stands beautiful and ranks in its red monk crest. A glass corridor connects the church and the monastery with Løgumkloster Refugium, which was founded in 1960. Several times a day, the city resounds of the crisp sound of King Frederik IX's Chimes. The total of 49 clocks in the 25 meter high tower is the Nordic region's largest clock game.
