The old marsh city behind the dike is a living city, among other things. is known for its craftsmen and for the delicious southern Jutland sausages from Højer Pølser. At the city's idyllic square you will find the old town of Højers, which is a thatched building from 1803, and in Møllegade is the state-owned march farm Kiers Gaard from 1760. On the road between Højer and Rudbøl, chocolate is made so the angels sing, and in Rudbøl one can stand with one leg in Denmark and another in Germany because the border between the two countries goes down the middle of the street.
