**Grand Hotel** was built as a railway hotel in 1867 in connection with the railway coming to Tønder in 1866. After its time as a railway hotel and Struks Hotel, it was a gathering place for the German soldiers during the 2nd World War. After the war it was re-established as a hotel under the name Grand Hotel, but in the 1950s it was bought by Tønder Municipality and used as a youth castle and later as a youth club, and was offered for sale in the spring of 2022 without a minimum price but with a project that won Anita and Brian.

Their project: Grand Hotel & BB – Projekt Fællesskab is a company that works with a social economic aim. The company does this by creating communities for socially vulnerable people with disabilities via employment in a food workshop, café operation and accommodation business.
