8 km along the Wadden Sea.

Astrup path

The approx. 8 km Astrupsti (back and forth) takes you north of the dam along the dyke in a northerly direction. Various information boards explain suitable. The area is characterized by the extraction of clay, which was used to build the dykes and the Rømø dam. In this way, two lakes arose, the new Astrup Engsø and after just over 3 km Kildebjergsøen. When you approach Astrup banke, you have a clear view of the sea to Rømø, the Rømø dam and the foreland, which protects the mainland from sea water. The landscape with lakes and grazing areas, bushes and thickets is home to various animals such as foxes and deer and provides good conditions for many different birds, migratory birds and resident birds. By the path, there are two bird hides and a table and bench set.

The path can be extended north to Brøns lock and you either go back to Astrupstien or you continue along the dyke, turn to Brøns and Brøns church and back via Holmvej and Kildebjergsvej back to the car. (approx. 18km)
