Marsk Tower

Opening hours

The Marsk Tower is the meeting point for the entire Marsk Camp, here everyone is welcome to take a walk up and admire the spectacular view.

When you have climbed 146 steps and landed on the lookout platform, you are thus standing 36 meters above sea level. Here there is ample opportunity to experience how sky and sea merge with the horizon. This gives a completely unique perspective on the otherwise immediately flat marsh.

When the Danish weather is, as we love it most, clear and sunny, you can enjoy the view all the way to Ribe, Sild and Rømø!

Marsk Tower is a must when you have to experience Southern Jutland!

Take the trip up to the new landmark for the marsh and experience how the horizon is both erased and expanded at the same time. Here you get a unique chance to experience the flat marsh and see as far as the eye can see.

The architecture

Get a new perspective on the beautiful marsh through Danish architecture. 25 meters above the ground, Marsk Tower lets you experience a 360-degree view of the uniquely beautiful marsh. Feel for yourself how the famous and fresh West Sea wind can create peace and new thoughts at the same time.

Designed by architects from the world-renowned Danish design firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), Marsk Tower is a unique structure inspired by the twisted structure of nature and the human DNA strand. It appears as both a sculpture and an observation tower and is shaped like a double helix, designed in such a way that there is one way up and another way down. This means you get the full experience for every single step, all the way up and down.

The structure is built by Schack Trapper and made of corten steel, which is both solid and robust. The tower's natural dark color is true to life and therefore blends in with the surrounding habitus, despite its height of 36 meters above sea level and being visible from several kilometers away. Marsk Tower is at the same time unique, eye-catching and natural.

Marsk Tower is a landmark for the entire marsh and the Skærbæk area – a fantastic experience of architecture in Southern Jutland.
